Noordin studied to be a geologist but found himself in the world of dance, starting with early training in Cebu under the tutelage of devoted teacher Fe Sala Villarica. As the first serious Filipino scholar in classical ballet in Russia where he trained in Pedagogy at the State Institute for Theater Arts in Moscow form 1973-1975 and again from 1977-1979 – he mastered the Vaganova Method of Teaching. He has participated in comprehensive workshops and observation tours in the USA and China and international performing tours of Ballet Philippines in the former USSR, France, Germany, Czech Republic, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia and Australia. As choreographer, he did over 70 works for the Cathedral of Praise, of which he was Dance Director, ranging from mime to dance pieces to dance-drama, individually and as part of full length-musicals. For Ballet Philippines he has choreographed or re-staged Les Sylphides, The Nutcracker, A Forest Tale, Giselle and A Garden Tale. He has danced major character roles for Ballet Philippines’ productions since 1980. He has been the CCP Dance School’s principal since 1987 and its director since 1997.
