After the HUGE success of Ballet Philippines’ last show,TANGO FILIPINO: LA DIVINA, we are proud to announce the all new, contemporary and original shows of the 37th season at the CCP main theatre:
ALL THAT JAZZ (August 11-13, 2006):
Opening the season with the smooth and timeless styling of jazz music, chill out and indulge as Ballet Philippines performs a captivating visual feast with its signature flair and panache. With a staggering number of styles and selections to choose from, be it Soulful New Orleans Jazz or the complexity of fusion Jazz, this production promises dance revelry in a wealth of versatility. Once again a clutch of choreographers will assemble to explore the expanse this cool and classy mode of music has to offer.

"So You Think You Can Dance," thus goes the worldwide TV sensation, along with "American Idol" and the local version, "Shall we Dance?". Feel the excitement, tension and exhilaration as you watch professional dancers battle against each other live!" In a daring competition of talent, showmanship, and charisma, Ballet Philippines’ own a wild and madcap cast of characters will win you over with a comical version of these hysterical and eccentric shows. While the indigenous Filipino has a rich and distinct cultural heritage all its own, over three hundred years under the influence of colonial Spain leaves and indelible mark on the Philippines soul. Inspired by the intensity of Spanish passion, the conclusion of a flamboyant season takes us to where it all began, BP takes on the savory challenge of creating contemporary works which highlight an Iberian spice and its delectable fire.
